“Joy is a net of love by which you catch souls” ~Mother Teresa~
Walking in to the cute ranch style home I was immediately greeted by warm smiles and lively Italian voices! When I first met Valentina, I remember how easy she was to talk to. If she ever felt shy or uncomfortable being around David’s friends I never would have known – and her family was no different! Despite any language barriers, I felt welcomed in as one of the family. It quickly became clear to me that the joy that radiates out of these two friends began with their families, and what a beautiful foundation for their relationship.
As the afternoon progressed, more guests arrived, filling David and Valentina’s home with the love and laughter of friends and family. Caterers from Outpost Catering and D&R Market hurried food outside, then back inside due to the heat, then back outside again. David stood in the entryway greeting guests. Having known David for several years now, it made me smile to see how comfortable he seemed in his suit ready to walk down the isle.
When the sweet ceremony began, guests found their seats in white chairs outside the home’s picked fence. Music played softly and a proud father walked his daughter down the isle – a very long way from home. The day was hot, very hot, but the mood was light and David took moments throughout the ceremony to joke with friends. Guests filled the white tent inside the backyard following the ceremony, and as the evening wore on, the warmth of the sun was replaced by the love of family and friends, who came from all over the world, to celebrate these two becoming one.
David and Valentina, it was a privilege for me to get to be a part of BOTH of your ceremonies! I look forward to many years of friendship to come and the opportunity to watch the joy and love between the two of you flourish.
